Homebalance: Interactive System for Home-based Therapy of Balance Disorders

- Interactive rehabilitation tool aimed for patients with balance and motor skill disorders of different origins

- It can be used in rehabilitation of patients after brain damage both in acute and chronic state of the disease, while the conventional treatment is no longer effective

- It can be employed in pediatrics, e.g. in case of a post-traumatic condition or cerebral palsy

- It can be applied in geriatrics, mainly for prevention of fall due to stability disorder

The System Offers

- Training of stability by shifting the center of gravity on a stabilometric platform

- The therapy includes active repetitive game-like trainings

- Standing on the stabilometric platform, the patient is instructed to move the displayed item by shifting their center of gravity

- Tasks are also combined with cognitive training

- The game can also be played by tilting the tablet with the patient´s hands (upper limb training of coordination)

- Possibility to monitor a patient during his or her own home-based therapy

Availability

- Diagnostic and therapeutic system Homebalance has been certified as a Class I medical device.

- The system was put on the market in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 2016 by Homabalance s.r.o. (spin-off company of the Charles University in Prague).

- Thanks to its certification it is, therefore, possible to buy this system and use it within a healthcare sector.

- The application can be also found in the field of social services, for example in houses with nursing services.

- We plan to expand its market to foreign countries in the near future.
